Day 1 Gorilla Trekking Early morning transfer and gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park Journey time: 2.5 hours Meal Plan: Lunch Your driver and guide shall pick you from your hotel or the airport for transfer to the Volcanoes National Park in the north of Rwanda. The park is only 2.5 hours drive away which makes it easier for you to reach in time for your gorilla trekking activity. Reaching the park headquarters at Kinigi in Musanze district, you will carry out registration and briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and precautions. After briefing, you will be divided into groups and assigned a ranger and gorilla family that you will track. You will enter the forest and start the experience, which can take from 1 to 5 hours. The trek is physically demanding but the experience of observing these mountain gorillas in their natural habitant is memorable. After finding the location of the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them observing their movements and taking photographs. You will witness their different behaviors and characters as they play and make movements. After trekking, you will go back to the head quarters for your trekking certificates. After enjoying your packed lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel or to the airport for departure.
