Highlights
Right at the shore of the mighty River Nile, along the northern banks, Murchison River Lodge is found. Overlooking the river and the Murchison Falls National Park on the other side of the Nile, the lodge has a great location for any activities on water such as the boat cruise to the bottom of the amazing Murchison Falls or into the Nile Delta on the look-out for the rare shoebill stork. In just one hour drive, you reach Budongo Forest – home to a large population of chimpanzees.
Murchison River Lodge offers accommodation for almost every budget. From spacious and comfortable cottages for up to 4 people, en-suite safari tents overlooking the river Nile to non-self-contained furnished budget tents which offer enough comfort for a small budget.

Main Building
Murchison River Lodges main building takes you back in time as Murchison Falls NP was once the national park with the biggest elephant population in the whole of Africa. Follow the timeline along the wall and discover lots of interesting facts about Murchison Falls National Park. Beneath a large thatched roof, the open-sided restaurant, bar and terrace is found offering its guests breathtaking views of River Nile and Murchison Falls National Park. From here elephants, hippos and water bucks are often seen wading through the swallow water on the northern bank to graze on the islands. The rustic wooden furniture on the terrace is equipped with big pillows and invite guest to relax and enjoy the beautiful views while enjoying a cold drink after an exciting day in the park. Every evening a camp fire is lit down at the river and the local community group performs traditional dances and songs.
The swimming pool including sun lounge and pool bar is the perfect place to spend your free time. Toilet, changing room and towels are available at the pool area. Furthermore, wifi can be used at the pool bar and lounge.

Guest Accommodation
The lodge offers 3 kinds of accommodations.
Four spacious, comfortable and open planned cottages offer privacy and tranquility surrounded by bush savannah. The cottages can accommodate up to four adults or 2 adults and a maximum of four children on two floors with a large double bed upstairs and two single beds on a mezzanine floor. Each cottage has an en-suite bath room with a shower providing hot and cold water throughout the day. The cottages are all equipped with mosquito nets, solar lights, towels, etc. The private terrace overlooking the bush have a sofa, a table and a hammock allowing its guests to sit back and relax. Down at the river, the en-suite and furnished safari tents were set up under a thatched roof. All tents are equipped with a double bed or 2 single beds, mosquito nets, solar lights, towels and a private bathroom including a shower with hot and cold flowing water. In front of the tent a table and two chairs are placed to enjoy the view of the River Nile or the bush around the tent.
The lodge also provides non-self-contained, furnished tents for guest with a smaller budget. Each tent is equipped with 2 single beds, solar lights, mosquito nets and towels. The toilet and shower block is positioned to the camp sites main entrance.

Meals
Murchison River Lodge can be booked on bed & breakfast, half board or full board basis. All meals are served in the restaurant or breakfast and lunch can be packed for longer activities in the park. Breakfast consists of continental breakfast in form of a buffet and cooked English breakfast. Lunch with one course and dinner with 3 courses is served according to a set menu with a vegetarian option to choose from. In case of special dietary requirements, the lodge will provide you with an alternative menu when informed in advance.
Complimentary hot beverages are served in the restaurant after 4 pm. Flexible meal times and a ‘Young Explorer’s Menu’ will be offered to families.
