
Kyambura Gorge Lodge
Highlights:
The contemporary lodge, formerly a coffee store and processing plan, is now one of the finest accommodations in Queen Elizabeth National Park – one of the most beautiful and varied parks in Africa. Kyambura Gorge Lodge is located on the edge of the National Park and offers a dreamlike view of the rolling savannah landscape and the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. Since the renovation, this lodge offers a delightful contemporary space to relax, yet retains the character of its past life and gives the facility a historic charm. The lodge is the ideal place to visit the “lost chimpanzees” in the sunken forest of Kyambura Gorge and to have scenic views of the vast savannah. Guests are spoiled with personal butler service and a 30-minute massage. The lodge created a buffer zone along which guests can walk so as to protect the kyambura gorge ecosystem from encroachment.
Main Building:
The old coffee house and processing plant, now houses the creatively designed and comfortable lounge with bar area, including an interesting collection of books, magazines, locally made artwork and a spacious dining area. The unique decor offers something eye-catching wherever you look. The upholstery in African Design give the European-inspired furniture a nice touch. The living area lead onto a wide deck with stunning views across the gorge to the distant Rwenzori Mountains.
The large, clear saltwater pool provides cooling and invites you to laze around in a hammock on the pool deck. Wi-Fi is available in the main building. There is also a swimming pool and a spa.
Guest Accommodation:
The very spacious Bandas, built of wood and bricks, remind in the local architecture and have each a different theme colour. The decor is contemporary and comfortable, the bathroom has a shower with hot and cold water, toilet and double vanity. Each Banda is equipped with charging stations for electronic devices. The bandas are filled with light thanks to the large windows. Wooden floors and stylish furniture give the cottages a chic outlook. The excellent views complete the picture of a very welcoming and peaceful stay. From the private balcony you have a fantastic view of the savannah landscape of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Sit back and enjoy the view.
Meals:
Three meals a day: breakfast, lunch at the lodge or packed as a packed lunch for longer activities and dinner between 6pm and 9pm, as requested by the clients. 1-course lunch and 3-course dinner with a choice of a vegetarian or non-vegetarian dish, as well as a selection of international wines and other alcoholic beverages. Water, other non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages (excluding premium drinks) are included in full board. Water is always available in the rooms. Personal dietary wishes and dietary requirements will certainly be considered (with advance notice). Hot drinks and pastries are available throughout the day.
Activities at Kyambura gorge lodge:
Chimpanzee trekking, boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel, visits to the Blue Lake and Maramagambo Bat Cave, cultural visits and bird watching.
