Highlights
Chameleon Hill, an upmarket lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and approximately one hour from Kisoro Town, truly has a very unique character. The vibrant and colorful lodge is situated on the rim of Lake Mutanda – one of Africa’s most scenic lakes. In the backdrop the majestic Virunga Volcanoes appear. Stunning views which are beyond compare make Chameleon Hill Lodge to an amazing place to linger and enjoy the beautiful nature of south-western Uganda.
The Lodge offers the perfect blend of comfort and relaxation combined with personalized service and delicious food. From the lodge it takes only 45 – 60-minute drive to reach Rushaga or Nkuringo Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home of the ‘gentle giants’, Uganda’s Mountain Gorillas. But that is not the only activity which can be done around Chameleon Hill and make its worth a longer stay. Explore Lake Mutanda and its many islands in a dug-out canoe or in the lodge’s own motorized boat, try yourself cooking a traditional lunch, traditional basket weaving, wood carving, jewellery making or as a farmer during the farmer experience. If you like it more active, go on one of the many trails in the area, summit one of the Virunga Volcanoes or visit the endangered Golden Monkeys at Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Main Building
The colorful main building that reminds into a fairytale castle is characterized by two imposing round tower marking the entrance to the lodge’s reception, where every guest is briefed about the facility upon arrival.
The restaurant and lounge border to the balcony which offers breathtaking views of Lake Mutanda below and the Virunga Volcanoes in the distance. The stylish and cozy furnished living room is the perfect spot to relax at the chimney with a glass of wine to unwind an exciting day tracking the mountain gorillas of Bwindi or exploring the lake and communities around. A mixture of modern and traditional furnishing combined with colorful wall paintings give the lodge a special touch. A library offers enough reading in several languages and the bar is equipped with local and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Due to its remote location, power is generated by a generator which is running in the mornings and evenings. Around this time, you can charge electronic devices in either your room or at the main building and use the Wifi in the main building.

Guest Accommodation
Along the rim facing the lake, 10 luxurious chalets are situated. Each in a different color and decorated with traditional dug-out canoes and elaborate details, the chalets reject the main building’s colorful and unique style. Each cottage is either furnished with one comfortable king-size double bed or two comfortable single beds, mosquito nets, bedside tables, sockets, a safe, an en-suite bathroom including a shower with hot and cold water throughout the day and night and a private terrace. Panoramic window doors offer a stunning views of lake Mutanda.

Meals
Full board at Chameleon Hill includes with 3 meals daily (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Lunch is served with 2 course and dinner with 3 courses according to a set menu of international dishes. Each meal is freshly prepared using ingredients organically grown in the lodge’s own garden or by local farmers. Complementary water is provided during the meals and in the rooms. In case of any special dietary request, please inform us in advance, so that the lodge will be informed and prepared accordingly.
