Marafiki Safari Lodge is a Midrange and Budget facility near Queen Elizabeth NP – one of Uganda most popular destinations. Located on a hill, it offers a fantastic view of the park, Lake Gorge and the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. Designed and hand crafted using local materials, Marafiki Safari Lodge is another great location in and around Queen Elizabeth NP. The open, stone-tiled bathroom is a very unique feature of this accommodation and provides even from the shower a fantastic view of Queen Elizabeth NP. The lodge offers Midrange accommodation is privately located, self-contained safari tents and Budget accommodation in comfortable, non-self-contained cabins which can each accommodate 4 people.
Main Building:
The open main building combines bar, restaurant and lounge. The verandah is facing the park and the Rwenzori Mountains and offers a fantastic view when enjoying a relaxed breakfast in the morning. A beautiful garden in front of the verandah create a prefect picture. After a long day exploring the park, relax in the bar and lounge area, enjoy the stunning views and sundowners while the sun drops behind the Rwenzori Mountains. Every evening, the lodge lights a camp fire to wind out the day with a cold beer or a glass of wine.
Guest Accommodation:
From main building, a path leads the way up to 5 en-suite safari tents, each named after an animal living in the park. Each private safari tents stands raised on wooden platform and offers a private verandah facing the park. The canvas walls can all be rolled up giving you the opportunity to enjoy a perfect African sundowner from the comfort of your bed. All safari tents are furnished with either a double bed or two single beds, mosquito nets, a charging area for phones and other small electronic devices, a desk and a bathroom with an outdoor shower. Hot and cold water is provided throughout the day and night. For families and bigger groups, the lodge offers accommodation in the newly built cottage. On the other side of the lodge area, Marafiki Safari Lodge has set up basic but comfortable, non-self-contained wooden cabins. Each of the 4 cabins can accommodate 4 people. The cabins are furnished with bulk wooden beds, mosquito nets, bed linen, etc. for travelers with a smaller budget. Toilet and shower facilities are located separate and offer such as the cottages a beautiful view of the park.
Meals:
Marafiki Safari Lodge can be booked on bed & breakfast, half board, full board. Full board includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served on the veranda of the restaurant under the warm morning sun, fresh coffee with a full breakfast of seasonal fruits and other fresh local produce. Lunch with 1 course and dinner with 3 courses is served according to a set menu with each 2 options to choose from. The bar is equipped with local and international beverages.
