Due to the direct location on the Northern edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Buhoma, Mahogany Springs is the perfect base for a gorilla tracking adventure or bird watching. Every now and then the lodge is visited by gorillas – meeting one of these peaceful creatures is truly an indescribable experience. With more bird species per square kilometer than anywhere else in the world, Bwindi is often referred to as a bird watcher’s paradise. Since Mahogany Springs is located on an open piece of land along the Muyanga River, numerous rare species can be seen.

Main Building:
reception, souvenir shop, bar, restaurant, lounge and terrace can be found in the spacious main building. The detailed but simple design and spaciousness combined with high comfort characterize the heart of the lodge. The impressive panoramic terrace extends to the front of the building and attracts every guest. The terrace invites you to relax and linger and offers a wonderful view of the forest. Meals are served in the restaurant or on the terrace. In the middle of the main house is the bar, which is richly stocked with drinks of all kinds.
There is also a living room with a book / DVD library (with portable DVD players) and board games. This living room is designed with living a double-sided fireplace which complements the comfortability.
The main building also houses a souvenir shop. Wi-Fi is available in the whole area 24 hours. In the garden of the lodge, there is a fire pit where a bonfire for the guests is lit in the evening. There’s also a spa for more comfort.

Guest Accommodation:
The lodge has a total of 10 guest accommodations, including 8 Superior Suites, a Honeymoon Suite and a Family or Presidential Suite. Each of the 10 spacious suites has its own private terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding area. The rooms are equipped with sockets, a desk, a large bathroom with open terracotta shower, large beds and mosquito nets. The Honeymoon Suite is characterized by a larger bed and a bathtub in addition to the shower.
The Family Suite or Presidential Suite has 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms, a spacious living room and a large private deck overlooking the river and forest views, the largest suite accommodating 4 guests.

Meals:
Full board with 3 meals daily: breakfast with cold buffet and warm “Full English Breakfast” as desired, lunch at the lodge or packed as a packed lunch for longer activities, dinner is served in the restaurant or on the terrace. A la carte menus of 4 – 6 courses and choices, plus a glass of wine, beer or a non-alcoholic drink for dinner is included in full board. A wide selection of international wines and other alcoholic beverages is available. Water is available to every guest at any time. On personal wishes and dietary requirements will certainly be considered (with advance notice). Hot drinks and pastries are available throughout the day. Mahogany also has a BBQ once every week.
